Trade deficit in Albania remained virtually unchanged at ALL 24 billion in February of 2017 compared with the same month a year ago. Exports rose 14.2 percent to ALL 20 billion boosted by minerals, fuels and electricity (57.1 percent); construction materials and metals (48.7 percent); and textile and footwear (2.6 percent). Sales increased to Kosovo (40 percent); Spain (69.5 percent); Germany (24 percent) and Italy (5.3 percent). Imports went up 4.8 percent to ALL 44 billion as purchases were higher for machinery, equipment, and parts (9.7 percent); minerals, fuels, and electricity (18.8 percent); and textile and footwear (7.5 percent). Purchases rose from Germany (19.3 percent); Turkey (18.6 percent) and Greece (8.5 percent).
