Armenia Balance of Trade at -111.60 USD Million


Armenian trade deficit narrowed to $111.6 million in April 2017 from $129.7 million in the same month a year earlier. Exports grew 16.4 percent year-on-year to $165.3 million while imports increased at a slower 2.6 percent to $276.9 million. Considering the first four months of the year, the trade deficit widened to $472.2 million from $431.1 million in the same period of 2016, as exports went up 16.1 percent to $608.4 million while imports advanced 14.6 percent to $1,080.6 million.

Armenia Economic Activity Index at 3.40 percent


Armenia's economic activity grew 3.4 percent year-on-year in April 2017, easing from a 6.8 percent expansion in the previous month, as industrial production rose at a slower 4.3 percent (17.2 percent in March). Also, output grew for trade (14.2 percent from 13.7 percent in March) and services (10.4 percent from 8.4 percent). By contrast, output contracted for construction (-13 percent from -13.5 percent in March) and agriculture (-5 percent from -3.7 percent).
