Netherlands Trade Surplus Widens in November


The volume of exports of goods was 5 percent higher in November than a year earlier. In October it was 6 percent. The volume of imports increased in November by 4 percent, the same as in October.

The value of exports of goods amounted to 38.1 billion euros. That is 6.5 percent more than a year earlier. The value of imports grew by nearly 7 percent to 33.8 billion euros. The trade surplus was 4.3 billion euros. That is 0.2 billion more than in November 2011. Both import and export value of chemical products rose sharply.

Exports to EU countries grew about as strong as the export to non-EU countries. In the previous three months did exports to non-EU countries significantly better than to EU countries. Export prices were 1.4 percent higher than a year earlier. Import prices rose by 2.4 percent. The exchange rate of the foreign goods compared to November 2011 deteriorated.
