It was the weakest reading since October last year, as output rose at a slower pace for manufacturing (+1.6 percent from +8.6 percent), dragged by textiles, wearing apparel and leather products (+3 percent from +25.6 percent), paper and paper products (+9.2 percent from +20.2 percent), and basic metals and fabricated metal products (+4.3 percent from +14.5 percent). Meanwhile, mining and quarrying increased further by 37.3 percent (from +67.7 percent), as output from quarries continued to grow; while electricity supply declined by 3 percent (from +4.9 percent).

The biggest declines were recorded for food and non-alcoholic beverages (-3.4 percent from -2 percent in October), clothing and footwear (-3 percent from -2.8 percent), transportation (-2.9 percent from -3.5 percent) and furnishings, household equipment and supplies (-1.7 percent from -0.8 percent). In contrast, the biggest increases were recorded for alcoholic beverages and tobacco (+1.8 percent from +1.3 percent) and health (+1.4 percent from +1.3 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices edged down near 0.1 percent.
