The consumer confidence index in Denmark rose to 6.2 in March of 2017 from 4.8 in February and beating market forecasts of 5. It is the highest reading since August of 2015 as the financial situation of the household over the next 12 months was assessed more positive (15.3 from 14.5) and the general economic situation of the country also improved (8.5 from 3.3). Excluding energy and unprocessed food, the inflation rose to 0.6 percent from 0.5 percent and excluding energy only, it went up to 0.7 percent from 0.6 percent. On a monthly basis, consumer prices increased 0.8 percent following a flat reading in January.
