Georgia's trade deficit increased to $766.5 million in December 2016 from $664.05 million the same month a year earlier, preliminary data showed. It was the largest trade deficit since September, as exports rose 5.2 percent year-on-year to $194.2 million and imports grew 13.20 percent to $960.7 million in December. Considering January to December 2016, the trade gap widened to 7.76 billion from 5.52 billion the same period in the previous year as exports dropped 4 percent to $2.11 billion, while imports increase 28 percent to $9.87 billion.
