Business confidence in Ireland increased to 23 in the third quarter of 2016 from a 3-year low of 9 the previous period, with currency fluctuations, excessive business costs and the continuing difficulties in accessing bank finances are all having a negative effect on small business. Business Confidence in Ireland averaged 18.48 from 2011 until 2016, reaching an all time high of 50.00 in the fourth quarter of 2014 and a record low of -24.00 in the fourth quarter of 2011.
