External Debt in Lithuania increased to 33367.70 EUR Million in the fourth quarter of 2016 from 32397.50 EUR Million in the third quarter of 2016.

Lithuania Retail Sales YoY at 5.50 percent


Retail sales in Lithuania increased 5.5 percent year-on-year in February of 2017, following an upwardly revised 10.1 percent jump in January. It is the weakest rise since July last year. Sales went up at a slower pace for: automotive fuel (20.8 percent vs 23.1 percent in January), non-food products (4.1 percent vs 11.4 percent), electronic goods and furniture (5 percent vs 11.2 percent), recreational goods and culture (8.2 percent vs 16.8 percent) and for trade via mail or internet (16.8 percent vs 40.4 percent). In addition, sales of food products (-0.2 percent vs 2.7 percent) and those of pharmaceuticals and cosmetics (-0.1 percent vs 9.1 percent) dropped. In contrast, sales of textiles, clothing and footwear rose further (1.8 percent vs 1.7 percent). On a monthly basis, retail sales declined 6.1 percent, after an upwardly revised 21.5 percent drop in January.

Lithuania Industrial Production at 5.80 percent


Industrial production in Lithuania increased 5.8 percent year-on-year in February of 2017, following a downwardly revised 6.9 percent gain in the previous month. Output rose at a slower pace for manufacturing (4.3 percent from 9.4 percent in January). Meanwhile, production rebounded for mining (16.1 percent from -4.6 percent); water supply, sewerage and waste management (4 percent from -0.9 percent) and for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning (12.2 percent from -6.4 percent). On a monthly basis, industrial output went up 1.1 percent from an upwardly revised 1.9 percent increase in January.

Lithuania Current Account at -94.06 EUR Million


Lithuania recorded a current account deficit of EUR 94.1 million in January of 2017, compared to a EUR 59.2 million surplus a year earlier. The goods shortfall increased by EUR 177 million to EUR 182.9 million and the services surplus shrank by EUR 29.1 million to EUR 124.2 million. In contrast, the primary income gap decreased by EUR 43.2 million to EUR 92.6 million and secondary income surplus increased by EUR 9.7 million to EUR 57.3 million.
