Lithuania GDP Growth Rate at 0.10 percent
The Lithuanian economy expanded 0.1 percent quarter-on-quarter in the third quarter of 2016, following a 0.4 percent growth in the previous period, matching preliminary estimates. It was the weakest expansion since the first quarter of 2015 mainly driven by a slowdown in private spending (1.4 percent from 1.8 percent in Q2) and a fall in gross fixed capital formation (-3.6 percent compared to 2.5 percent). Government spending rose 0.2 percent, the same as in the previous period while exports recovered (0.9 percent from -0.2 percent) and imports declined 1.1 percent (1.8 percent in Q2). On a yearly basis, the GDP advanced 1.7 percent compared with a 1.9 expansion in the second quarter.
