Myanmar Manufacturing Pmi at 52.90
The Nikkei Manufacturing PMI in Myanmar fell to 52.9 in April of 2017 from 53.1 in March. The index remained close to the record high to mark a fourth straight month of expansion, as output and new orders continue to rise and employment remained modest. Meanwhile, backlogs of work declined again substantially, indicating ample spare capacity with the sector well placed to accommodate more new work in the coming months. Purchasing activity lifted for the fourth straight month but its rate of growth fell to a 3-month low; and firms raised marginally their selling prices for the ninth consecutive month, despite an ease in cost pressures. Moreover, business sentiment remained subdued as manufacturers were cautiously optimistic towards the months ahead.
