Imports to Norway increased by 12.8 percent year-on-year to NOK 56.99 billion in March 2017, as purchases rose the most for: Mineral fuels, lubricants and related materials (70.8 percent); chemicals (27.4 percent); crude materials (23.2 percent); and machinery and transport equipment (11.9 percent). In contrast, purchases fell for ships and oil platforms (-26.1 percent). In the first quarter of the year, imports rose by 9.4 percent to NOK 157.31 billion compared with the same period of 2016. Imports in Norway averaged 16849.73 NOK Million from 1960 until 2017, reaching an all time high of 64327.68 NOK Million in April of 2015 and a record low of 696 NOK Million in July of 1960.
