Rwanda Producer Prices Change at 3.80 percent  
Producer prices in Rwanda rose 3.8 percent year-on-year in the third quarter of 2016, following a 2.6 percent increase in the previous quarter. It is the highest gain since the first quarter of 2012 driven by prices in mining and quarrying (+31.3 percent from -2.2 percent in Q2) and manufacturing (+0.8 percent from -0.2 percent). In addition, cost of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply rose at slower pace (+12.2 percent from 19.43 percent). On a quarterly basis, factory gate prices went up 3.3 percent compared with 0.3 percent decline in the previous quarter.

In contrast, the services sector advanced at a faster 9 percent (+8 percent in Q1). On a quarterly basis, the GDP shrank 1.4 percent.
