Sao Tome and Principe Balance of Trade at -27.28 USD Million
Sao Tome and Principe recorded a trade gap of $ 27.28 million in second quarter of 2016, compared to $ 22.68 million trade deficit in the same quarter a year earlier. Exports fell by 25 percent to $ 1.44 million, as sales of agriculture products declined by 24 percent. Imports rose 16.7 percent to $ 28.73 million, due to higher purchase of consumer goods (+15.9 percent), capital goods (+37 percent).
