Sri Lanka Inflation Rate at 3.40 percent  
Consumer prices in Sri Lanka increased 3.4 percent year-on-year in November of 2016, following 4.2 percent growth in the previous period. It was the lowest inflation rate since April, as prices rose at a slower pace for food and non-alcoholic beverages (+2.9 percent vs +6 percent in October) and fell for housing and utilities (-0.1 percent vs +1.5 percent). In contrast, cost accelerated for clothing and footwear (+4.2 percent vs +2.2 percent); communication (+13.2 percent vs +2.3 percent) and miscellaneous goods and services (+6.5 percent vs +5.8 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices went up 0.6 percent.
