Sudan Inflation Rate at 33.50 percent
Consumer prices in Sudan rose 33.5 percent year-on-year in February of 2017, following a 32.86 percent increase in the previous month. It was the highest inflation rate since September 2014, as food and energy prices kept rising mainly due to cut in subsidies in November. Meanwhile, Sudan has banned imports of meat and fish and raised import tariffs on other goods, pushing up inflation in a country that relies heavily on imported goods.
