East Timor Inflation Rises in July

The annual inflation rate in East Timor rose to 0.3% in July 2025, after a stagnant reading in the previous month.
The increase was mainly driven by higher prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages (1.1% vs 0.1% in June), clothing and footwear (0.5% vs 1%), and furnishings, household equipment and maintenance (0.8% vs 0.7%).
On the other hand, costs continued to decline for alcohol and tobacco (-3.2% vs -0.9%), transport (-1% vs -1.7%), and communication (-1.1% vs -0.9%).
On a monthly basis, consumer prices advanced 0.2% in July, following a 0.1% gain in the preceding period.
