The annual inflation rate in Jordan rose to 1.98% in May 2025, from 1.83% in the previous month.
This marked the highest reading since February, driven by price increases in personal effects (21.06%), fruits and nuts (16.63%), tobacco and cigarettes (12.53%), tea, coffee, and cocoa (10.71%), and spices, food additives, and other food items (5.5%).
However, the overall increase was partially offset by deflation in housewares (-2.88%), furniture, rugs, and bedspreads (-2.78%), fish and seafood products (-2.74%), and household appliances (-2.22%).
On a monthly basis, consumer prices accelerated to 0.21% in May 2025, from 0.09% in the previous month.
