Lithuania Inflation Rate Slows to 5-Month Low

Lithuania’s annual inflation rate slowed to 3.4% in May 2025, from 4.1% in each of the previous two months.
Prices moderated in most sub-indices such as: alcoholic beverages & tobacco (8% vs 8.3%), education (6.6% vs 7%), healthcare (5.1% vs 5.6%), (food & non-alcoholic beverages (4.4% vs 5%), housing & utilities (2.5% vs 4.8%) and communication (1.7% vs 2.8%), furnishings, household equipment & routine home maintenance (1.1% vs 0.9%).
Additionally, costs declined for clothing & footwear (-2% vs -0.6%) and transport (-0.3% vs 0.2%).
In contrast, prices rose further for miscellaneous goods & services (3.9% vs 3.1%).
On a monthly basis, consumer prices by fell 0.3%, marking the first drop since August 2024, following a 0.1% gain in the previous month.
