Luxembourg recorded a trade deficit of €-0.63 billion in May of 2025, narrowing from the €-0.72 billion from the corresponding period of the previous year, to record the third drop in the deficit of the year.
Imports contracted by 4.5% annually to €1.89 billion amid a sharp drop in fuels and lubricants (-26.4% to €0.17 billion) due to the drop in their prices, while imports of manufactured goods fell sharply as well (-16.7% to €0.1 billion).
In turn, exports were unchanged at €1.26 billion, with a jump in manufactured goods (10.7% to €0.2 billion) offsetting the drop in metals (-11.7% to €0.24 billion), likely on lower steel prices, among Luxembourg's main exports.
