Morocco Inflation Rate Eases to 12-Month Low

The annual inflation rate in Morocco slowed to 0.4% in May 2025 from 0.7% in the previous month.
It marked the lowest inflation since May 2024, with food prices rising the least in seven months (0.4% vs 0.5% in April).
Inflation also moderated for housing & utilities (2.1% vs 3.7%), restaurants & hotels (3.9% vs 4.4%), clothing & footwear (0.7% vs 0.8%), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (3.5% vs 3.6%), and healthcare (0.2% vs 0.3%).
Inflation was steady for furnishing (at 0.4%), miscellaneous goods and services (at 1.5%), and education (at 2.3%).
Additionally, transport prices fell at a faster pace (-4.3% vs 4.0%).
On a monthly basis, consumer prices dropped by 0.4% in May, the steepest decline in 16 months, following a 0.3% fall in April.
