Oman Inflation Picks Up in April

The annual inflation rate in Oman rose to 0.9% in April 2025 from 0.6% in the previous month, mainly driven by faster price increases in transport (3.1% vs 1.7%), restaurants and hotels (1.5% vs 0.7%), and miscellaneous goods and services (7.0% vs 6.1%).
Meanwhile, the decline in food and non-alcoholic beverage prices eased (-0.3% vs -0.7%).
In contrast, prices fell slightly for furnishings and household equipment (-0.1% vs 0.3%).
Additionally, costs for housing and utilities, clothing and footwear, and communication remained unchanged.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose by 0.5% in April, reversing a 0.4% drop in March.
