Peru Inflation Rate Stays at 4-Month High

The annual inflation rate in Peru’s capital, Lima, stood at 1.69% in June 2025, unchanged from May’s four-month high, with food prices rising the most in 15 months (1.49% vs 1.35% in May).

However, the latest reading remained within the Peruvian central bank’s target range of 1% to 3%.

Inflation also accelerated for recreation and culture (2.96% vs 2.92%) and restaurants and hotels (2.84% vs 2.79%).

Meanwhile, inflation moderated for housing and utilities (0.45% vs 0.68%), transport (0.13% vs 0.95%), education (4.07% vs 4.12%), and miscellaneous goods and services (2.61% vs 2.66%).

On a monthly basis, consumer prices increased by 1.30% in June, recovering from a 0.06% decline in the previous month.
