The Central Bank of South Sudan lifted its benchmark interest rate to 15% from 10% during an unscheduled meeting on November 6th, saying it needed to curb excess liquidity in the banking system in light of a weakening currency and high inflation.
The Committee also increased the reserve requirement ratio to 20% from 10%.
