Uganda Business Confidence Falls to 5-Month Low

The Business Tendency Index in Uganda fell to 58.3 in July 2025, the lowest in five months, from a revised 59.4 in the previous month.
Decreases were observed in some sub-indices, including the present business situation (54.6 vs 57.4 in June), number of employees (54.29 vs 57.30), sector competition (66.4 vs 67.7), and average selling price (48.6 vs 52.1).
Among sectors, confidence dropped in construction (55.1 vs 58.8), manufacturing (57.2 vs 59.9), agriculture (54.9 vs 57.8), and wholesale trade (55.9 vs 58.1), while it rose slightly in other services (60.4 vs 59.9).
