El Salvador Inflation Rate Declines for 2nd Month

Consumer prices in El Salvador decreased by 0.21% year-over-year in April 2025, after edging down 0.11% in April.
Downward price pressures came from transport (-5.39% vs -5.33% in April), household equipment (-1.84% vs -1.75%), clothing and footwear (-0.87% vs -0.65%), communication (-0.73% vs -0.70%), restaurants and hotels (3.23% vs 3.49%), and healthcare (1.67% vs 1.83%).
Meanwhile, upward pressures were seen in housing and utilities (2.34% vs 2.31%).
Food and alcoholic beverages declined for the eighth consecutive month (-0.69% vs -0.63%).
On a monthly basis, consumer prices edged marginally higher by 0.11% in May, reversing a 0.03% increase in April.
