Japan Machine Tool Orders Rebound in July

Japan’s machine tool orders rose by 3.6% year-on-year to JPY 128,357 in July 2025, rebounding from a 0.5% fall in the previous month.
The upturn was primarily driven by an increase of 5.3% from a year earlier to JPY 92,908 in foreign orders.
Meanwhile, domestic demand declined by 0.7% to JPY 35,449.
On a monthly basis, orders decreased by 3.6% in July, slipping from a 3.4% advance in the preceding period.
