Malawi Interest Rate at 22.00 percent


The Reserve Bank of Malawi has lowered its benchmark lending rate by 200 basis points to 22 percent on March 24th. It was the second consecutive cut, amid a slowdown in consumer inflation as the kwacha stabilizes. Annual inflation was last recorded at 16.1 percent in February, the lowest since April 2012.
