PennyMac Mortgage Investment Trust (PMT) is a specialty finance company that invests primarily in mortgage-related assets. The Company conducts all of its operations, and makes all of its investments, through PennyMac Operating Partnership, L.P. (its Operating Partnership) and its subsidiaries. The Company segments include credit sensitive strategies, interest rate sensitive strategies and correspondent production. The Company’s credit sensitive strategies segment represents the Company’s credit risk transfer (CRT) arrangements, distressed loans, real estate, and non-Agency subordinated bonds. Its interest rate sensitive strategies segment represents the Company’s investments in mortgage servicing rights (MSRs), excess servicing spread (ESS), agency and senior non-agency mortgage-backed securities (MBS) and the related interest rate hedging activities.
