It was the first gain after three periods of contraction, mainly boosted by a rebound in manufacturing production (+1 percent from -2.2 percent in Q2). Additional upward pressure came from: Water supply, sewerage and related activities (+4.4 percent from +3.3 percent in Q2); mining and quarrying (+0.7 percent from +3.2 percent); and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (+0.9 percent from +1.9 percent). On a quarter-on-quarter basis, industrial output climbed 5.6 percent. In the last twelve months, industrial production contracted 0.1 percent compared with the same period in the previous year, mainly due to a 0.2 fall in manufacturing.
