Lebanon Inflation Rate at 4.93 percent  
Consumer prices in Lebanon went up 4.93 percent year-on-year in February of 2017, after a 4.68 percent rise in January and reaching a new high since June of 2013. Main upward pressures came from prices of housing and utilities (9.1 percent vs 8.2 percent in January); food and non-alcoholic beverages (1.44 percent vs 0.02 percent) and housing and utilities (9.1 percent vs 8.2 percent); transport (9.4 percent vs 7.9 percent). In contrast, health cost fell at a faster pace (-1.3 percent vs -1 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices increased 0.55 percent, recovering from a 0.47 percent fall in January.
