Recent data updates are showing that the Swiss economy remains on a moderate upward trend. After a small contraction in the second quarter, the GDP has rebounded from July to September expanding 0.6 percent from the previous quarter. Also since March, the KOF economic barometer has recorded an impressive rebound. In addition, the loans to the domestic private sector have been growing supported by the policy rates close to zero and almost unlimited central bank liquidity. More importantly, exports are doing quite well given the lower global demand and strong Swiss Franc.
