The S&P Global Brazil Services PMI fell to 46.3 in September 2025 from 49.3 in August, signaling the joint-sharpest contraction in nearly four-and-a-half years (equal to July).
New business declined for the sixth month, with demand weakness cited as the main drag, though the pace of contraction was the softest since June.
Employment rose for the first time in three months, with firms citing staff adjustments and sales expansion, but job creation was only marginal.
Business sentiment stayed positive, though confidence slipped below its long-run trend amid financial concerns, politics, and high interest rates.
Input cost inflation eased to a 10-month low but remained elevated.
