Consumer prices in Slovenia increased 1.9 percent year-on-year in March of 2017, easing from a 2.2 percent rise in the previous month. Prices increased at a slower pace driven for food and non-alcoholic beverages (2.4 percent vs 3.6 percent in February), transport (4 percent vs 4.3 percent) and recreation and culture (0.5 percent vs 0.8 percent). In addition, prices declined for clothing and footwear (-0.3 percent vs 0.4 percent). Meanwhile, cost increased faster for housing and utilities (3.1 percent vs 2.9 percent), recovered for furniture (0.7 percent vs -0.4 percent) and went up further for miscellaneous goods and services (2 percent vs 1.9 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices went up 0.4 percent following a 1 percent rise in February.
