Denmark has been reporting consistent trade surpluses since 1988. Denmark is self-sufficient in energy producing oil, natural gas, wind and bio energy. Denmark’s seasonally adjusted trade surplus widened to DKK 28.8 billion in November 2025, from a downwardly revised DKK 27.6 billion in October. Exports grew 0.7% month-over-month to DKK 179.9 billion, led by a 2.8% rise in goods exports that more than offset a 2.4% decline in services exports. On the other hand, imports stalled at DKK 151.1 billion, with goods imports flat and services imports falling 0.1%. For the first eleven months of the year, Denmark posted a trade surplus of DKK 302.7 billion, up from DKK 292 billion over the same period in 2024.

Danish Trade Surplus Narrows in October
Denmark’s seasonally adjusted trade surplus narrowed to DKK 28.1 billion in October 2025, from an upwardly revised DKK 34.1 billion in the previous month. Imports rose 0.8% month-on-month to DKK 150.2 billion, driven by a 1.9% increase in goods imports, which outweighed a 0.5% fall in services imports. Meanwhile, exports fell 2.6% to DKK 178.3 billion, as both goods (-3.8%) and services (-0.9%) exports declined. Considering the first ten months of the year, Denmark recorded a trade surplus of DKK 272.7 billion, up from DKK 264.9 billion in the same period of the previous year.
