Philippines Foreign Exchange Reserves  1960-2017 | Data | Chart | Calendar

Philippines' foreign exchange reserves fell to 80.87 USD billion in March of 2017 from 81.44 USD billion in February and marking the smallest amount since December 2016. The decline was mainly due to outflows arising from the central bank's foreign exchange operations and the payments made by the government for its maturing foreign exchange obligations. These were partially offset by net foreign currency deposits by the government and revaluation adjustments on the central bank's gold holdings resulting from the increase in the price of gold in the international market. The reserve can cover 8.9 months’ worth of imports of goods and payments of services and primary income. It is also equivalent to 5.2 times the country’s short-term external debt based on original maturity and 3.9 times based on residual maturity Foreign Exchange Reserves in Philippines averaged 14888.83 USD Million from 1960 until 2017, reaching an all time high of 86139.11 USD Million in September of 2016 and a record low of 44.07 USD Million in December of 1961.
