House Prices Rise Least in 18 Months: Case-Shiller

The S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller 20-City Home Price Index rose 4.1% from the previous year in March, decelerating from the 4.5% percent increase in February and contrasting sharply with expectations of a 4.5% increase to log the softest rise since September of 2023.

The slower increase took place despite other data reflecting lower mortgage rates and recent gauges of low housing supply, potentially reflecting lower purchasing power for homebuyers.
