United States Personal Consumption Expenditure Price Index  1959-2017

The price index for consumer spending in the United States was flat in November from October 2016, following an upwardly revised 0.3 percent growth in the previous period. Cost of services rose 0.1 percent (+0.2 percent in October), while prices of goods went down 0.2 percent (+0.4 percent in October). Compared to the same month a year earlier, the PCE price index went up 1.4 percent, at the same pace as in the previous month. Excluding food and energy, prices remained unchanged from October and increased by 1.6 percent from the previous year, below market expectations of 0.1 percent rise.
