Spain Inflation Rate at -0.2% in September

Spanish consumer prices are expected to fall by an annual 0.2 percent in September, following a 0.5 percent drop in August. It is the third consecutive month of negative inflation rate.

Provisional estimates showed cost of food and non-alcoholic beverages were flat on a yearly basis while electricity prices increased. 

On a monthly basis, the inflation rate slowed to 0.1 percent in September from 0.2 percent in the previous month.

The EU-harmonized consumer prices are expected to fall 0.3 percent year-on-year in September and rise 1.0 percent month-over-month.
