Northwest Natural Holding Company is a holding company. The Company operates through its subsidiaries as a provider of natural gas services. Its subsidiary Northwest Natural Gas Company (NW Natural) distributes natural gas to residential, commercial, and industrial customers in Oregon and southwest Washington. The Company’s local gas distribution segment is a regulated utility principally engaged in the purchase, sale, and delivery of natural gas and related services to customers in Oregon and southwest Washington. Its local gas distribution business is responsible for building and maintaining a pipeline distribution system, purchasing gas supplies from producers and marketers, contracting for firm and interruptible transportation of gas over interstate pipelines to bring gas from the supply basins into its service territory, and re-selling the gas. Its other activities include Interstate Storage Services and third-party asset management services.
