Gasoline prices were down 7.1 percent in May, after declining 5.8 percent in April. On a monthly basis, gasoline prices registered their third consecutive increase, rising 4.1 percent in May.
The annual core inflation rate was recorded at 2.1 percent, down from 2.2 percent in April and in line with market expectations.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 0.4 percent compared to 0.3 percent growth in the previous month. Transport and recreation prices went up 1.3 percent while food cost dropped 0.3 percent.
