Chile’s IPSA lost on Thursday 36 points, or 0.7 percent, to 4819. The decline was led by industrials, as industrial output slumped 7.6 percent year-on-year in February of 2017, with copper production shrinking 16.7 percent. Among other stock markets in South America, Colombia’s COLCAP led gains on Thursday, with the benchmark index increasing by 5 points, or 0.4 percent, to 1370, hitting a 7-week high. In contrast, Brazil’s iBovespa lost 262 points, or 0.4 percent, to 65266. Meanwhile, in North America, Canada’s TSX fell 79 points, or 0.5 percent, to 15,579; and Mexico’s IPC lost 173 points, or 0.4 percent, to 48863. Historically, the Chile Stock Market (IGPA) reached an all time high of 24335.42 in March of 2017 and a record low of 263.53 in January of 1987.
